After first working as a Chiropractic Assistant between 2016-2017, she decided to pursue her Doctorate in Chiropractic in order to further assist and treat the people of Lexington, Kentucky with their musculoskeletal pain.
Dr. Farmer was born and raised in Owensboro, Kentucky where she attended Owensboro High School. She participated in numerous sports, although volleyball was the nearest to her heart. On her days off, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Tommie, weight lifting, or exploring the outdoors with her Blue Heeler, Flex.
After graduating high school, Dr. Farmer attended the University of Kentucky and acquired her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. While earning her undergraduate degree, she worked directly under the Head Athletic Trainer where she assisted in the medical care of Division I collegiate athletes.
After completing her undergraduate degree, she decided to enroll in Chiropractic school at Logan University. She relocated to St. Louis, Missouri where she completed her Doctorate in Chiropractic in August of 2020.
While attending Chiropractic school, Dr. Farmer was introduced to many other therapy modalities to enhance patient care. She took extra classes to become proficient in trigger point dry needling therapy to treat the muscular component of musculoskeletal pain. Dr. Farmer also credits working under the University of Kentucky’s Athletic Training program as a great learning experience for current techniques in rehabilitation for the athletic population.
