I earned my chiropractic degree in 1989. You can imagine how far the field has come in all that time. That’s why continuing education is so important. I believe in giving my patients the best that chiropractic has to offer, which is virtually impossible to do without continuing education. One of the reasons we receive referrals from attorneys, patients, and surgeons each year is that they have learned to rely on our expertise to help speed the recovery of their clients.

For treating my patients and helping them get out of pain and back to the activities they love, my education has been very important. At school, I learned valuable techniques and how to use the latest equipment. But since my school days, I have found that listening to my patients is an education, too. That’s why I always take the necessary time to understand what they are going through.

Dr. Caitlin Farmer has a long history with the Elswick Chiropractic & Associates team. After first working as a Chiropractic Assistant between 2016-2017, she decided to pursue her Doctorate in Chiropractic in order to further assist and treat the people of Lexington, Kentucky with their musculoskeletal pain.

Dr. Farmer was born and raised in Owensboro, Kentucky where she attended Owensboro High School. She participated in numerous sports, although volleyball was the nearest to her heart. On her days off, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Tommie, weight lifting, or exploring the outdoors with her Blue Heeler, Flex.

This is not Tyler’s first rodeo with the Elswick team; he was a staff member working as a CA from 2013-2014 prior to his decision to attend graduate school where he earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree. During his previous time with the Elswick staff he became proficient with patient care and communication, which ultimately led him into the chiropractic profession.

“People always ask why I chose to become a chiropractor and how I got involved in the field of chiropractic. My reasoning for choosing this career path has always been focused on my sports background. I became involved in athletics at an early age and played through college, which led me to want a profession where I’m able to use my body and be physical.
Chiropractic not only provides me with an avenue to heal patients with my hands, it also addresses a serious issue I faced growing up in eastern Kentucky. I was born and raised in a community burdened by an opioid epidemic which made the prospect of non-narcotic pain management even more appealing to me.”
